During E3 it seemed like a lock-in for Spiders Studio’s The Technomancer to drop on June 21st this past week, but it was not meant to be. The game got hit with a last minute delay, pushed into next week during the final days of June.
Blues spotted the new release date in a gameplay trailer featuring some of the game’s early gameplay segments and character creation options. You can check out the seven minute developer walkthrough below.
The video offers a fairly extensive look at how the stats and skill trees can be evolved, as well as what sort of powers will be at the disposal of players throughout the game.
They explain how the game will see players being able to focus on one of three different combat stances featured in the game, ranging from the sword and board style, the knife and stealth style or the staff style. I really like the way they use the staffs in the game, by the way.
Players will be able to upgrade their fighting abilities and acquire new equipment, armor and gear while scavenging through the tattered cities, ruined wastelands and hostile environments on Mars.
The Technomancer is similar to games like Mass Effect, it has a story with a pathway that players can follow or bend and mold to their whims as they make decisions, alliances and enemies along the way. Also, much like Mass Effect the game will also sport romance options for players to pursue throughout their journey.
Companions will make up for a significant portion of the gameplay as well, with players being able to aid or gain aid from various individuals while progressing through the story mode.
The Technomancer looks like a decently mid-budget game, and you’ll be able to get your hands on it starting June 28th for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. For more info feel free to pay a visit to the official website.
