In the latest issue of the Weekly Famitsu a screenshot shows new and old characters that will be in Toukiden 2. Koei Tecmo and Omega Force also released a new trailer showing off the game’s Mitama abilities against the big spider creature. As of now, the game is set to come out over in Japan on July 28th for PS Vita, PS3 and PS4, while its playable demo is still live.
Thanks to the Weekly Famitsu showing the single screenshot of Koei Tecmo and Omega Force’s game Toukiden 2, we are now able to see what’s cooking with the characters. The new character stands as Kazue (voiced by Yoji Ueda) who is Tsubaki’s father. Kazue is also the commissioner of Slayers, and oversees headquarters business like mission acceptance.
Joining the new character is four other older characters. Returning to the scene are Kuyo (voiced by Yasunori Masutani), Hatsuho (voiced by Ai Nonaka), and Soma (Voiced by Hikaru Midorikawa). It’s worth noting that both Hatsuho and Soma can help in battles and will be able to use the Club and the Chain/Sickle weapons.
With that said, the image might be hard to view all of the new and old characters seeing that it’s a scan from the magazine, but you can check it out below thanks to the Weekly Famitsu.
Moving on from the single screenshot, we have another video yet again showing the big spider creature. The reason behind the devs showing the spider creature is for scaling purposes with the weapons and abilities. Using a single target (like the spider) provides a clear understanding on how weapon scaling works across a common boss so the viewers won’t get sporadic numbers and results with that weapon/ability.
The video below dives into other weapons and the Mitama, which the latter are souls that helps supplement skills and abilities for Slayers. This allows players to manipulate the experience of their Mitama by equipping one in battle or by other means. You can check out the video courtesy of Koei Tecmo Channel [via AllGamesDelta]
