General director of Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator, Daisuke Ishiwatari, took to the stage during this year’s EVO 2016 tournament series to reveal that a brand new character is joining on July 18th and will be free for a limited time. The character? Dizzy.
After the Guilty Gear Xrd grand finals wrapped up, Daisuke Ishiwatari and his translator appeared on stage to a chorus of cheers as they introduced some new content for Xrd Revelator, including a brand new balance patch update for 1.03, which makes adjustments to all of the characters, as well as improves the overall useability of the game.
The DLC for Dizzy will be free for a limited time only, so if you own a copy of the game on the PS4, be sure to get up bright and early tomorrow morning and get yourself a free DLC copy of Dizzy.
During the stage presentation and announcement of the character, they also revealed a trailer, very briefly introducing one of the series’ most recognized characters and the mother of one of the main characters, Sin Kiske, who was the character who managed to take the championship title at this year’s EVO in a battle of attrition against a very formidable Johnny.
The trailer was only a few seconds long, quickly showing off Dizzy making her first appearance in the Unreal Engine 4-powered fighter from Arc System Works. Her very distinct curves and both the grim reaper and angel wings also make an appearance, and we briefly see her specials at play before getting a quick moe moment where she winks next to a friendly squirrel.
The Dizzy DLC isn’t being released in a vacuum, though. Arc System Works also has plans to release a 1.04 patch further down the line this fall, which will introduce the “Digital Figure Mode”, which I can only imagine being similar to the collectible figure mode in the Resident Evil games.
Basically, fans of Guilty Gear have quite a bit to look forward to both today and tomorrow with the free Dizzy DLC (which will only be available for a limited time without a price tag), and then toward the fall they’ll have additional updates and new features to embrace in Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator.
