Hyper Light Drifter New Console Trailer Arrives Ahead Of July 26th Launch Date

As time is narrowing down for Heart Machine’s Hyper Light Drifter to release for consoles, the action adventure RPG has gained a new trailer. Sporting music from Disasterpiece, the trailer also shows various in-game mechanics and features, including combat and adventuring. Hyper Light Drifter is set to come out for PS4 And Xbox One on July 26th.

If you’ve been waiting a long time to play the fast paced, action-adventure game, you will finally be able to do so in the next three days. Sadly, there won’t be a PS Vita version, but you will be able to play the game on your PS4, or Xbox One.

Set to release this Tuesday, July 26th, the developers took to the editing room to produce a new video to announce the console release date for Hyper Light Drifter.

The video isn’t long, but it does show different aspects of the game in action. It’s good the game focused on showcasing what the game is about given that some folks in the comment section of the PS4 video trailer do not know what Hyper Light Drifter is, or what it demands of players.

The basic concept of the game revolves around a desolate land that holds hidden treasure and savage creatures. Using a soft pixel look, the story of the game is told through exploring the 16-bit desolate land, while fighting hardcore enemies with fast gun and blade skills.

According to the trailer’s description, you can read a brief summary of the game’s lore and story:

“Drifters of this world are the collectors of forgotten knowledge, lost technologies and broken histories. Our Drifter is haunted by an insatiable illness, traveling further into the lands of Buried Time, hoping to discover a way to quiet the vicious disease.”

For those who are unfamiliar with this beautiful project, you can watch the new trailer below that comes in by PlayStation‘s YouTube channel.

Before signing out, It’s nice to see a successful indie game like Hyper Light Drifter receive as much love as it’s getting, seeing how it started on Kickstarter back in 2013 with a budget of $650,000. Although the project went through some delays, I do have to say that the finished project is exceptional, and delivers what was promised.

Those on PS4 and Xbox One looking to join in and play Heart Machine’s Hyper Light Drifter will be able to on July 26th. For more information on this game, you can head on over to heart-machine.com.
