Two new promo videos for 2K Games and Hangar 13 Studios’ upcoming Mafia III have gone live, one of which is a live-action short centering around a mafia boss being taken down by main character Lincoln and a second teaser trailer that profiles the character Cassandra.
The first trailer is only a minute and a half long and is composed of a lot of quick clips cut together to show a mob boss biting a bullet at the hands of Lincoln Clay. You can check it out below.
There’s a lot of close-ups and attention paid the near infinitesimal details of getting dressed. Only, one is being dressed for a funeral and the other being dressed to attend the funeral.
It’s not put together badly at all, and the actors – especially the guy playing Lincoln – looks spot-on like his in-game incarnation.
The second trailer focuses on one of the sub-bosses that works under Lincoln. Her name is Cassandra and they call the scornful criminal the “Voodoo Queen”. You can check out the 44 second promo piece below.
Apparently some roughshod stuff happened to Cassandra and she wants to get revenge. I’m guessing her family was killed by the mafia?
The official trailer description keeps it simple, stating…
“A first-hand witness to the mob’s ruthless trafficking rackets, she’s vowed to take them down no matter the cost. She’s as ruthless as she is mysterious. God help anyone that gets in her way.”
While she may be mysterious, one thing we know for sure is that she has a temper. This was demonstrated in a previous trailer where Lincoln was distributing territories and Vito, Burke and Cassandra were quick to make their bids, but Cassandra wasn’t afraid of laying down the law.
We’ll likely see more of her and the other characters leading up to Mafia III’s release on October 7th for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The game has a lot to live up to compared to the excellent storytelling and characterizations present in Mafia II. That was nothing short of a genuine masterpiece. We’ll see if Hangar 13 Studios can at least stand in the shadows of its predecessor with Mafia III.
