Capcom let loose a new trailer for Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Spirit of Jusitce over the Anime Expo weekend. The new trailer features the ESP judiciary Rayfa Padma Khura’in, who uses spiritualism and astral powers to dole out justice, and it briefly covers the character Maya Fey.
The upcoming 3DS title sees the near three minute trailer covering a lot of what was already present in the previously released trailers that Capcom has sent out, going back over the fact that Phoenix Wright will be a strange land where the customs and the court system is very different from where he comes from. Wright ends up representing a young boy accused of murder while dealing with the spiritualistic visions from Rafya Radma Khura’in.
The second case involves Apollo Justice, having to take on a case without Wright there by his side. Athena and Apollo have to endure gathering evidence and working the suspects in an attempt to keep the business going even while Wright is handling things overseas.
The trailer moves into new territory when they finally introduce Fey into the picture around the 1:30 mark. You can check it out below.
Interestingly enough, the Maya angle is barely showcased in the trailer, and instead only the appearance of some sort of danger she’s involved in is hinted at in the trailer. They don’t make it known if that’s part of a separate case or all attached to the case of Wright trying to get the young boy acquitted, but the press release indicates that the trouble Maya finds herself in will involve Wright trying to help her as well.
Maya had apparently been in the Kingdom of Khura’in training as a monk, and she makes her return to the series following a run as Wright’s assistant in the previous games.
The upcoming Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice is due for release this September for the Nintendo 3DS for $29.99.
