I’m not big on day one buying, but I am interested in Square Enix’s take on their Minecraft themed game Dragon Quest Builders. Those who are interested in the day one edition, and the story, should be pleased seeing how the devs of the game took the time to explain some of the content in the game. Dragon Quest Builders is set to come West on October 11th, for PS4 and PS Vita.
Dan Seto, the SEJ West community manager over at Square Enix, took to the PlayStation.blog to announce some of the features that will be in Dragon Quest Builders, as well as what folks will get when they purchase the day one edition. Dragon Quest Builders was also noted that it will make in appearance at this year’s Gamescom event, which should be interesting when it makes an appearance.
Moreover, I bet many hardcore fans drooling over Builder’s release already know the story behind the game, but for those that don’t and who missed the low down over on the PS Blog written by Seto, you can catch all of the info here:
“Generations ago, the realm of Alefgard was plunged into darkness by the terrible and treacherous Dragonlord, ruler of all monsters. Mankind was robbed of the power to build and forced to wander the ruins of their former home, scrounging and scavenging in the dust to survive.”
“Now it’s up to you, a Legendary Builder chosen by the Goddess herself, to return the power of creation to the people and rebuild Alefgard. Only when the wonder of imagination has been returned will mankind be able to overthrow the evil Dragonlord once and for all!”
The game intertwines both the story and gameplay together in that players must build the shattered Alefgard back to its former state, as well as stop the evil Dragonloard with your best inventions. Free-roaming and sandbox building are very prominent and will play a pivotal role in traversing the land.
As noted above, I’m not a day one buyer, but if you are there’s some news for you. A voucher code will be issued to unlock three exclusive recipes for building materials that can be used in Terra Incognita (Free Build) Mode. The recipes are listed below:
- Springtide Sprinkles Recipe – An item that lets you transform trees into festive cherry Blossoms and soil into straw floor blocks.
- Slimy Blocks Recipe – Craft delightful blocks fashioned with cute blue Slimes, which they aren’t slimy.
- Gold Blocks Recipe – Allows you to show off your excessive funds and materials with a pure shiny gold block.
Folks will gain access to these recipes once in Terra Incognita Mode, which becomes available in the first chapter of the main story. However, you will need to gather their respective material to craft them. Once you are done crafting whichever recipe you will be able to make them as much as you would like.
Lastly, Dragon Quest Builders is set to debut on October 11th, 2016, in the West for PS4 and PS Vita.
