Gears Of War 4 Gameplay Video Battles Robot Enemies

If you were curious about some of the enemies you could encounter in Gears of War 4 beyond the typical swarmers and mutants, some of the new enemies in the game include dangerous robot kill squads and armored floating drones.

We also get to see someof the new weapons on display, including the automatic machine guns used by some of the robots. One of the more impressive moments is when JD rips a mini-gun out of one of the flying droids and carries it with him through a greenhouse where he completely wrecks the greenhouse.

The video comes courtesy of IGN, who posted up the eight minute clip. Check it out below.

The only other thing that was pretty cool during the clip was the plants getting destroyed along the edges of the cover. I just wish we saw more of that happening to force players to have to reevaluate how they attack the battlefield. The destructible elements in Gears of War 4 so far are really no different than what was in Gears of War 3.

Just like in previous videos, we see that yet another weather storm waylays the squad so they head into a shed where we get to see a new sniper-style rifle in action along with a shotgun.

The highlight of the clip is Marcus Fenix laying down the law. It’s amazing how much gravitas the character brings back to the fold when he’s on-screen. It makes the Scooby-Do gang look amateur by comparison.

So far the game comes across as terribly generic. The horror themes from the first two games are gone. The CW teen drama cast of diversity are unbelievably lame. J.D., is a poor imitation of what a main character should be, and sadly the only thing that’s captured my interest is an old and aging Marcus Fenix. This basically indicates that the only good thing about this new game is an old character.

Gears of War 4 is due for release on October 11th for the Xbox One and Windows 10.
