Light Arrow Games is prepping to release their top-down, Bomberman-style game Guns N’ Boxes onto Steam this September. The game will enter into Early Access first on Steam before officially releasing.
The developers recently sent out word to inform gamers that the indie title will be arriving soon to Valve’s digital distribution platform. For those of you unfamiliar with Guns N’ Boxes, the game puts players in control of “zany” characters in a top-down arena filled with various obstacles, enemies and boxes… lots and lots of boxes. In fact, the object of the game is to shoot the boxes and loot the items inside.
Players will find all sorts of weapons, power-ups, boosts, and other items inside. The objective of the game is to grab the loot, kill your opponents and win. A new 21 second trailer was recently released to give you a snappy look at the upcoming multiplayer title.
The fast-paced gameplay and single-screen combat is like Bomberman on speed. The pace of the gameplay is also somewhat similar to the explosive design of BroForce, just set in a top-down arena.
The game will sport both multiplayer competitive modes and the ability to go against the CPU. This seems like it could end up being one of those games where it’s like a fun pastime if you just need something to boot up and have some fun with without having to get too attached or too involved… you know, like that fling you keep in your little black cellphone that you hit up when you don’t feel like being serious in a relationship (or when you need some time away from the significant other).
Anyway, you can look to get your hands on Guns N’ Boxes when it arrives on Early Access this September. For more info feel free to visit the official website.
