Industry Giant 2, Business Tycoon Sim Lands On PS4, Xbox One Q4 2016

The major game consoles will receive the classic business tycoon simulator from UIG Entertainment and Fancy Bytes starting sometime in the late fourth quarter of 2016.

UIG sent out a press release indicating that the old-school business sim that recently made its way onto Steam last year in August will soon arrive for home consoles in 2016.

The objective of the game is to start off with a farm, building up your business from small beginnings as you build your tycoon into a massive corporate empire.

The press release breaks down the general goal of the game and the premise, stating…

“Begin the game in the year 1900 with little money, but large ambitions and through skillful decisions, you can build up an enormous empire. You make critical decisions about which products you should manufacture, where to gather the raw materials, where to sell product, and how to transport them effectively.”

Now keep in mind that this is not SimCity. You will not be building up your own city. You will start off with a small company centered around buying, selling, building, transporting and trading in order to build up your resources and become a mega power.

There’s actually a really, really good tutorial and Let’s Play video from YouTuber TAPE Gaming that explains how the game functions, what you need to start building your business and some of the challenges you’ll face. Check it out below.

When re-released on Steam, the game supports full HD resolutions so it should at least be 1080p on the home consoles (unless the Xbox One craps out and it ends up only being 900p). It sports 20 different maps to build your industries across, along with 50 different interactive vehicles, and more than 150 products that have been made in the 20th century.

It’s an old-school game made for a new generation of gamer. Sadly I never played this when it first came out, so I honestly don’t remember it. It supposedly came out back in 2002, and the reason I probably don’t remember it was because I was a full blown OG Xbox fanboy.

Anyway, you can see Industry Giant 2 in action at this year’s GamesCom as UIG will be previewing the title on home consoles in Hall 3.2 at booth A10. You can learn more about the game by visiting the official website or you can pick up a copy of the PC version for $9.99 from over on the Steam store. It’s currently discounted by 50% as of the writing of this article in celebration of the Russian language support that they’ve added to the game.
