In celebration of the launch of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad into theaters the world around, Warner Bros., has decided to release some new content for the mobile version of Injustice: Gods Among Us, featuring skins and content for Deadshot, the Joker and Harley Quinn.
In addition to the characters, they’ve also added new challenges for players to overcome, all new multiplayer content and brand new survival mode features.
Warner Bros., let loose the new trailer for the update featuring the new content, clocking in at only 44 seconds but giving gamers plenty to soak in. Check it out below.
The video is fast and furious, but I have to tip my hat off to NetherRealm for adding in the new skins that actually look like quality representations of the actors who played the characters in the film.
Jared Leto’s Joker (whether you like his portrayal or not) actually looks like Jared Leto in the game. It’s not one of those half-arsed attempts that look like trash. I kind of wish they would have put a bit more focus on Harley, though. We barely get to see her properly and most of it happens in quick snippets and fast edits.
We do, however, get to see plenty of Deadshot. They keep his mask on so they don’t have to pay Will Smith for his likeness. Smart move.
I’m still not a fan of this particular portrayal of Deadshot, he just doesn’t seem… deadly.
Anyway, the update only contains those three major characters from the recent Suicide Squad movie. If you were hoping for a Captain Boomerang skin, or a Diablo skin, you’re fresh out of luck.
If the movie does well enough at the box office maybe Warner Bros., will return to the property and throw out a few more skins for the mobile version of Injustice.
You can grab a digital copy of the game right now for the iOS or Android devices from the respective digital storefronts.
