Yooka-Laylee Gamescom Trailer Shows A Lot Of Platforming And Adventuring

Set to debut for PC, PS4, Xbox One and the Wii U, Playtonic Games’ Yooka-Laylee received a Gamescom trailer that flaunts a lot of platforming and adventuring, which looks pretty fun. After completing its run on Kickstarter sometime back, the game is set to release early next year.

It seems as if a lot of people are excited for Yooka-Laylee, which I am a bit too, but it looks to have some frame-rate issues every now and then when I see a trailer for the game, which concerns me. Aside from that issue which can be fixed before release, the game looks like a nice throwback to a classic 1990’s platformer.

According to the most recent trailer that Team 17 published for Playtonic Games’ project, the video shows the vivid locations that one can travel around in, spanning from watery areas, monuments high up in the clouds and in-door stages.

The gameplay trailer sits in at one minutes and 48 seconds. If you want, you can out check the video trailer below courtesy of Playtonic Games, which sits beneath the team’s announcement:

“This week we’ve dispatched our most frankfurter-resistant team members to the Gamescom expo in Germany. As well as teasing some of the new enemies, moves and mechanics you can see in our latest video, we offered Cologne-dwelling press the opportunity to play Yooka-Laylee for the first time.”

I do hope that Yooka-Laylee delivers on being a good platforming game, the last thing the devs need is a failed project that doesn’t deliver on release. However, since the game has close to a year’s worth of development time ahead of it, the devs should have a lot of room to squash any bugs or problems.
