Guns N’ Boxes Enters Early Access On September 22nd

The final release date for Guns N’ Boxes from Light Arrow Games has been set for the Early Access. Gamers can expect to get their hands on the top-down, multiplayer action-shooter starting September 22nd.

The deathmatch arena game sees players dropping into a Bomberman-style single-screen level where players will attempt to use whatever weapons they can get their hands on to demolish and obliterate the competition, this includes hot dog launchers, spoons, rockets, explosives, magical spells, rail guns, bow and arrows, sniper rifles and all manner of other unique and traditional weaponry.

The developers made an announcement back at the end of August signifying that Gunbs N’ Boxes would be available in Early Access sometime in September. Recently they narrowed down that date to September 22nd. It’s just a matter of waiting an extra week before you can get your hands on the game.

If you want to see what Guns N’ Boxes plays like, there’s a trailer you can check out below.

As you can see, the objective is to land in a level, blow open the boxes, grab whatever you can and start blasting the crap out of as many opponents as possible. The boxes contain more than just weapons, though. Some of them will feature boosts and power-ups as well.

The game will feature both multiplayer modes for players to duke it out against one another, as well as modes that allow players to go head-to-head against AI bots. It seems like bots in games these days is such a rarity, so it’s nice to see Light Arrow including them in Guns N’ Boxes.

If you’re interested in getting your hands on the title when it arrives in Early Access, you just have to wait a week to do so. If, however, you would rather wait for the game to graduate from Early Access before purchasing it, well.. then you’ll be waiting a lot longer than a week.
