Horizon: Zero Dawn EGX 2016 Video Covers Skill Tree, Dialogue Options

Guerrilla Games released new footage of Horizon: Zero Dawn, the PS4 and PS4 Pro exclusive, at this year’s EGX in Birmingham, England. The new footage features nearly 20 minutes of gameplay, a little bit of discussion about the story and some more of the combat mechanics.

One of the things they talk about in the video is how dialogue options can alter the course of a conversation. The video also covers the various weapon options available, including slingshots, boys, a ropecaster and a tripcaster. You can check it out below, courtesy of Game Videos.

They explain that some of the items you can purchase in Horizon will require currency and some items will require special currency.

In Horizon players will have four active weapon slots that they can use at any single one time. You can assign a different weapon to each of the four slots.

They also show off one of the alternate outfits in the game… the particular outfit that they purchase in the game protects Aloe from poison attacks.

They explain that using the scanner players can see what level the machines are and what kind of items they can scavenge from the robots. Scavenging is required to craft different items, weapons and ammo types.

The demo is basically a retread of what was showcased at this year’s E3, but we do get to see more of the scavenging, more of the item gathering, and more of the exploration and combat.

The demo covers the same boss fight that we saw at E3, with Aloy using the fire to take out the boss. What’s interesting here is that they show off the game’s level system, where players can unlock various skills from three characters, Prowler, Brave and Forager.

A large part of the game seems a lot like Far Cry: Primal. You can look for Horizon: Zero Dawn to launch on February 28th in 2017, exclusively for the PS4.
