Mirage: Arcane Warfare Enters Alpha Testing

Torn Banner Studios released some new gameplay footage of Mirage: Arcane Warfare featuring some deathmatch gameplay between players. The footage comes alongside the news that the first-person, magic-wielding melee title has entered into limited alpha testing ahead of its official release.

Blues spotted the news from the developers who revealed that they’re randomly selecting participants for the alpha test based on people who sign-up over on the game’s official website.

Torn Banner had mentioned before that they were looking into an alpha test for Mirage following their showing at this year’s PAX West.

They also released 12 minutes worth of alpha footage for gamers to check out to help get them in the mood for some Arcane Warfare.

The video covers the gameplay alpha build that they had on display at PAX, featuring two different stages.

One of those stages includes the Bazaar, while the second stage on display is the Sunken City. There are two different game modes that they highlight as well.

They alternate between character classes, showing off some of their different abilities. We see a Tinkerer using a grappling hook and mines to pull people over the mine and blow them up.

The Vigilist uses a spear and shield, being able to block and guard against attacks, while also being able to shoot projectiles and poke people with the spear. The Vigilist isn’t on display for long before they switch out to the next character class.

You get a decent look at how the magic and melee combat ties into each other and what Torn Banner has in store for the game for the full release. If you’ve been selected to participate in the alpha then you can likely jump in right now. Otherwise you’ll have to wait for the beta test to roll around.
