Bethesda and Arkane Studios unleashed a live-action trailer for Dishonored 2, featuring Emily Kaldwin and Corvo surrounded by enemy forces, but it doesn’t last long as the duo unleash their supernatural powers to make short work of those who stand in their way.
The live-action trailer features Emily using her shadow powers to throw guards around and get around the town of Karneca with ease. You can check out the trailer below.
The live-action content was put together by a student group, according to Push Square, which would explain why the actors are very pristine and clean, and the cinematography looks so bright and happy.
The CGI isn’t too bad, if not a grade above SyFy. The action is fairly generic but you can tell that the students put some time and effort into the project.
There’s nothing particularly new showcased in the trailer that you likely didn’t already know about Dishonored 2, it just puts the game out there for fans of live-action machinima and to tide over gamers for the November 11th release date.
Dishonored 2 features a new location, new powers to utilize, a new character to play, and new enemies to face off against.
One of the key design elements that Arkane have been focusing on is the ability to utilize emergent gameplay. They want players to find and experiment with skills and abilities and create combinations they may not have thought about. This is something that used to be present in games quite a bit back during the 1990s and early aughts, but a lot of the emergent gameplay disappeared from the AAA sector in favor of casualized hand-holding content to cater toward people who don’t actually play games.
You can look for Dishonored 2 to launch next month on November 11th for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. For more info feel free to visit the game’s official website.
