Four Realms, Animal Themed Strategy Game Launches On Steam

If you’re a fan of those old CRPGs from way back in the late 1980s and early 1990s, you might like Hugebot’s Four Realms. The new game has been in the making for quite some time and managed to make it through the Steam Greenlight process and finally launch onto the Steam store.

The new game sees players having to put together a team of various animals in a kingdom under threat by a wild spell of magic. Players take on the role of a Warden who is tasked with putting together an animal version of the Suicide Squad to defend and protect the land using a variety of skills at their disposal.

The gameplay is emergent, allowing players to build, craft, develop and explore as they see fit. There’s a world map where you can move to different locations, the ability to fortify and build structures to stave off attacks, as well as real-time combat when managing the summoned animals. You can get an idea of what the gameplay for Four Realms entails with the trailer below.

We originally covered Four Realms last year when it made its debut onto the gaming scene, and since then Hugebot has been keeping tabs on their development progress through a page over on IndieDB.

The game sports more than 30 different animals to command, 15 different spells to learn, equipment to gather and various foes to defeat.

For the release of the game Hugebot upgraded the AI, made some cosmetic alterations to the game’s health numbers, fixed up the tutorials, and made some other tweaks and changes.

Four realms currently doesn’t have any user reviews listed yet, but they could be coming soon. The game is available for $11.99 but during the first week of being on sale you can get it for 17% off the normal price for only $9.95.
