Those who are still sticking it out and playing Portal Knights will find that 505 Games and Keen Games have seeded update V0.6.1, in which the update adds pets and new NPCs, and addresses several bug issues like the game crashing on startup. Portal Knights is currently out now for PC via Steam.

In an attempt to squash bugs in Portal Knights, developers Keen Games also went the extra mile to add in functioning pets that players can take care of, and NPCs scattered about the universe — but only in location that are freshly unlocked.

In addition to the pets and NPCs now present the game, the developers added in a new announcement segment in the official description of the game, as seen below:

“NOW INCLUDES NPCs and PETS! Leave the familiar world behind and step into the fantastic unknown with Portal Knights! Play with your friends in this action-packed crafting adventure across whimsical 3D sandbox worlds. Craft your adventure. Forge your hero. Become the ultimate Portal Knight!”

Pets can be found by searching the depths of caves and dungeons, or they can be purchased by vendors. You can equip these pets by putting them in your armor menu like armor or vanity items.

Speaking of vendors, most of them stand to be NPCs that are stationed around the universe. A lot of these NPCs also provide quests that reward special gear too.

However, if you are full in items and seek to trade some of your goods and rare stuff for gold, these NPCs will also stand to take in whatever you have to sell.

A new trailer that promotes the older V0.6.0 (which is almost exactly the same as V0.6.1) is visible below, and pretty much details everything that is posted in the update thread, except without noting any of the fixed bugs.
