The Last Goddess Features An Unlikely Team On A Grand Point and Click Adventure

The Last Goddess is an indie team based, point-and-click adventure game, developed by Ocean Breeze Studios.

The Last Goddess takes place in the near future in Tampa, Florida. The university professor has found knowledge of a Goddess that saved the world in ancient times. However, shortly after this discovery the professor has gone missing. Now, a group of unlikely heroes has banded together to go on a grand journey to find the professor and uncover the mystery that he has discovered.

The cast of characters includes Seiko, a graphic designer; Tamara, the graduate student; Colin, the nerdy intern; and special agent Carmen. Each character has their own special skills and abilities which will help you on your case to solve the mystery to progress pass obstacles that stand in your way.

The Last Goddess has some really serious Maniac Mansion vibes going on, and I am absolutely loving the choice of song they chose for the below trailer, which is a rocking 80’s themed song performed by the artist known as Kristine.

I have to say that the song choice also makes me think of The Breakfast Club, so I’m really hoping the rest of the game has a similar soundtrack. It would be disappointing if the music choice for the trailer turns out to be nothing like the actual game’s soundtrack. Anyways, take a look at the below video to see The Last Goddess for yourself.

As you can see from the trailer, The Last Goddess is following the popular retro pixel-art style, but I am curious to see how this game will actually play out in terms of gameplay and story because it seems to have some pretty interesting concepts going on.

Two things I should point out though, the first is that The Last Goddess still has quite a ways to go for development, and it won’t be launching until the first half of 2018, so it still has close to a year and a half worth of development to go before it is released to the public.

The second thing is that The Last Goddess developers have launched a Kickstarter campaign to gain funds to finish their game, so if you are interested you can follow the provided link to learn more about the game and to support the development team. However, they want a hefty $150,000 USD for their Kickstarter goal, so the developer suggested for people to read about how the money breaks down to understand where everything is going.

It seems that they don’t have stretch goals and that might be the reason why the price is so high, but it does seem quite steep for a side-scrolling point and click game.

The developers have also put up a Steam Greenlight page as well so that they can be accepted to be on Steam. Make sure to also visit the official website for any further details about the game.
