One of the games that released over the weekend is Bigben Interactive and Kylotonn Racing Games’ WRC 6 FIA World Rally Championship. The new game gives gamers an official world rally simulation depiction of the 2016 rally season for PS4, Xbox One and on Steam for PC.
The developers pride themselves on implementing multiple racing surfaces into the game, giving gamers an opportunity to experience the various types of competitive races across different surfaces. This includes mastering the icy sliding and jumps on snowy mountain ranges, dealing with the kick-up of mud on dirt tracks, as well as gripping turns on asphalt tracks. You can get a short look at what each of the races look like with the launch trailer for the game below.
Kylotonn has implemented more than 400 kilometers of brand new race tracks to tackle, along with officially sponsored liveries, and they even brought back split-screen play for two players who want to duke it out on the tracks in local play, or online play for those who want to throw down in online bouts against other players.
Some of the user reviews aren’t very kind to the game. Even though some people are enjoying the different race types and authentic 2016 FIA racing season, many are pointing out that the game is more of an arcade title than an actual racing simulator.
There are also a few complaints about a lack of proper G29 compatibility, including limited gear-shifter and clutch support. There are multiple reviews – even from those saying that the game isn’t great – that the force feedback is improved and that general handling of the cars has also been upgraded.
Most of the general consensus is that despite some of the drawbacks to WRC 6 it’s still a step up from WRC 5. For the people who are suggesting that the game is worth a purchase, they still concede that DiRT Rally is the higher quality game made for more hardcore enthusiasts of rally racing, so just keep that in mind.
The game is available right now for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. For more info feel free to hit up the official website.
