Digital Extremes just released one of the biggest quest for Warframe. As of now the update, War Within, is only available for PC players and will soon hit consoles (PS4 and Xbox One) sometime during December. The brand new update brings new weapons, a lore driven cinematic quest, enemies and more customization. Warframe is out now for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Without wasting any of your time, for those who don’t know developers Digital Extremes just released a new video for Warframe that stands as “The War Within Trailer”. The update is available now for PC, while the official trailer can be seen below.
The full description lies below, but just to let you know there are no spoilers in the description in case you’ve been holding out on others streaming the new quest line.
Amid all chaos, a mysterious enemy has emerged bent on the destruction of all Tenno. What secrets does the Grineer Empire keep? Underpowered, unprepared and forced out of their comfort, players must find it in themselves to improvise, not just to save themselves but the fate of all Tenno. The Grineer Queens’ Fortress awaits, where both Warframe and Operator will be pushed past their limits as they slowly unravel mysteries about the Tenno’s past and their true capabilities.
The new location provided in the game via the update includes uncovering the secrets of the Grineer Empire by infiltrating the Queen’s fortress, which hosts a maze of Grineer technology. And upon bypassing their heavy defenses and uncovering the secrets in the chamber is said to lead to something of a surprise.
New enemies also make an appearance. Wearing heavy armor and draped in red cloth, the Kuva Guardians are said to bring elite tactics and will be accompanied by mischievous creatures that are quick on their feet.
Joining in the update are new weapons and customization options, along with a new mission type entitled “Assault”. Players will engage in a multi-tier mission that calls for stealth to breach the Grineer’s fortified asteroid base.
Important Notice: You will only be able to play the War Within quest line by reaching Mastery Rank 5, finishing the The Second Dream quest, and completing the Sedna to Pluto junction that calls for:
- Defeating Vay Hek at Oro on Earth
- Defeating 10 Sentient enemies on Lua (on the Moon)
- Collecting any three mods from the Moon challenge rooms on Lua
- Craft/build a weapon requiring Mastery Rank 5 or higher.

I’m sure you’ve seen the pop up of Valkyr Prime throughout the video above, which you will be able to see her full Prime design if you are on PC and type ‘Valkyr Prime helmet’ into the chat window — this glitch will show you a full model of her new design. It was speculated that Banshee was suppose to get the Prime treatment, but a video covers this thanks to Tactical Potato.
