Full Throttle Remastered Set To Arrive 2017 For PS4, PS Vita, PC

Double Fine Productions released a new trailer over the weekend during the PlayStation Experience 2016 event in Anaheim, California for Full Throttle Remastered. The new trailer is just over a minute long.

It features a couple of snapshots of gameplay footage and cinematics from the 1990s point-and-click adventure from Double Fine, back before the founder outed himself as a bigot.

You can snatch a look at the trailer below.

Oh man, that theme song kicking in at the end of the trailer… I love that song from The Gone Jackals. It’s called “Legacy” and I regularly pop it on because it’s such an awesome track. It was back when game developers didn’t mind having kick-butt heroes be kick-butt without having to shoehorn in some kind of sappy, ridiculous, overwrought and poorly executed social message in every game. Some games back then were simply made to be fun and entertaining.

Obviously since it was posted up on the PlayStation YouTube channel it only features the PlayStation devices that it’s releasing on, but Blues scoured the net and found out that the game will also be available on PC.

The game followed Ben as his biker gang was framed for a murder they didn’t commit. In a future where cars drive without wheels, Ben is an old-school biker who likes to keep his tires planted firmly on the ground. The rough-and-tumble anti-hero has to solve a few puzzles, punch some people in the face, and even partake in a Road Rash-style series of combat mini-games. It was one of my favorite games from back in the 1990s.

They don’t give an exact date when the remastered version of Full Throttle is due to drop but you can expect at some point in 2017. The graphics have been updated, the sound has been improved and the cinematics digitlally revamped. And now PlayStation gamers will get a taste of the title for the first time on the PS4 and PS Vita.
