A new trailer was released for the Just Cause 3 multiplayer beta. The trailer is a minute and a half long giving gamers a look at what they can expect from an open-world of pure visual madness within the realm of Medici.
The trailer was posted up over on the Nanos Framework YouTube channel, which you can check out below.
The first 20 seconds of the trailer is a calm and relaxing look at the idyllic beach fronts and mountainous fjords that lovingly kiss the horizon with fog-topped peaks.
After that 20 second span, however, things take on a more familiar tone that we’ve become accustomed to seeing from the Just Cause multiplayer beta.
We see a bunch of Ricos partaking in a number of dangerously fun events, from downhill soap box car racing to tandem tours in the skies with fighter planes, all the way to racing at high speeds around tracks. The fun never stops.
The racing absolutely reminded me of Forza Horizon. I think that was probably one of the most under-utilized aspects of the Just Cause games… the lack of really taking advantage of the great road-based topography. There was a ton of open-road space in both Just Cause 2 and Just Cause 3 that always seemed to be under-utilized. The opening sequence in Just Cause 2 really set a precedent for what we could have expected from the road-based combat, but they never really took advantage of it throughout the rest of the game. Just Cause 3 was an even bigger culprit for the under-utilization of its roadways.
With the Just Cause 3 MP beta we could potentially see modders finally taking on the game’s more overlooked aspects and creating some great new moments.
According to the official Just Cause 3 MP beta website, the developers mentioned that the beta will go live on December 20th and they expect a stable release by sometime in January of 2017…
“[…] our first beta release of our Just Cause 3 Multiplayer mod will be available on December 20. This will be a full release including the server files allowing everyone to host their own servers and begin scripting awesome game modes. We expect the first stable 1.0 release of the mod to be ready in January or February next year. You will be able to download the mod from our website, similar to the previous preview downloads.”
We’ll definitely keep you keyed in on when the downloadable client will be made available. Just Cause 3 is available right now for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
