During this year’s Jump Festa 2017 event, Square Enix revealed some new gameplay clips for some of their upcoming slate of titles due out in 2017, one of which includes the compilation pack Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix.
The trailer is almost a no-nothing teaser, featuring little more than 30 seconds of gameplay footage for the upcoming PS4 compilation pack. The trailer was spotted by KH13.com, and they explain that despite the trailer being as short as it is, it actually contains a few new clips not seen before during Square’s promotion of the title. You can check out the Jump Festa 2017 trailer below.
If you have no idea what’s going on, it’s okay… you’re not alone.
This compilation pack is separate from the other Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, which basically compiles all the games after Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix in order to help catch gamers up on the story leading into Kingdom Hearts 3.
So basically, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix will cover everything leading up to Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. If you’re unsure as to what exactly the Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix contains, there’s a list of the games included in the pack below, courtesy of IGN.
- Kingdom Hearts Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories
- Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (HD remastered cinematics)
- Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts Re:coded
That’s some crazy stuff.
It’s impossible for me to keep up with exactly what’s been going on with Kingdom Hearts and unfortunately – despite the really cool premise of combining Square Enix and Disney characters – I never really got into the Kingdom Hearts games. Technically, the re-release of Kingdom Hearts 1.5 and 2.5 Remix should make it easier to catch up, but I don’t know if I have the energy to invest in a series like that.
Anyway, you can look for Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix to launch on March 9th, 2017 in Japan and March 28th, 2017 in North America. Europeans will get the game last on March 31st.
