PSX 2016: Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite Releases 2017 For Steam, Xbox One, PS4

Capcom and Sony announced during the PlayStation Experience 2016 event that Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite is coming to home consoles and PC next year in 2017. The game was announced with a brand new teaser trailer featuring Iron Man, Carol Danvers (A.K.A., Captain Marvel), Ryu from Street Fighter and X from Mega Man X.

Sporting a Mark IV hotrod red and Rolex gold livery on his suit, Iron Man explodes onto the scene to blast Mega Man X out of the way of getting his hands on a glowing orb. Ryu comes to the rescue and uses the orb to lay a whooping on Stark. Danvers flies in to aid her fellow Marvel compatriot, evening the odds by going binary and knocking some sense out of Ryu.

The fight ends with the four clashing in a big clash. The trailer can be viewed below courtesy of Marvel Entertainment.

The trailer promises a lot of what’s to come and fans are thoroughly excited. The game will feature new two-on-two fighting mechanics, and the trailer hints at being able to get your hands on power orbs that can drastically change the way you play the game and face off against opponents.

It makes me wonder if it’s going to be a little bit like Street Fighter X Tekken with the various gems that could be used to alter the fight and gain certain advantages or buffs when activated? Well, according to the PlayStation Blog, the game will feature Infinity Stones, which can be used to alter the fight like in some of the older games, including: power, space, time, reality, soul, and mind.

The Unreal Engine 4-powered title will also feature a new cinematic story mode, mission mode and the aforementioned 2-vs-2 tag-team mode.

The trailer leaves plenty of room for the imagination and only gives gamers a teasing taste of what’s to come.

The comment section absolutely exploded as to which characters they want to see make an appearance in the game. There are a lot of requests for the classic Peter Parker Spider-Man, as well as lots of requests for characters like The Winter Soldier (and I can’t blame them because he’s become really cool recently).

Capcom plans on showcasing more info on the game during the PlayStation Experience 2016 event in Anaheim, California this weekend, so stay tuned in for more info. And remember, the game is coming to the Xbox One, PS4 and on Steam for PC in 2017.
