PSX 2016: Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami And Yakuza 6 Coming West

You’ve read the title right, Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza 6 are all coming to the West next year and two years from now. This news regarding the Yakuza series heading Westward comes in courtesy of Sega making an announcement during the PlayStation Experience 2016 event.

In the past it was already noted that Yakuza 0 was releasing in North America, which was announced somewhere around four months ago, but it was reiterated again along with the Western announcements for Yakuza Kiwami And Yakuza 6.

Folks who enjoy playing the Yakuza games will finally be able to rest steadily now that the newer games are set to come out during the Summer of 2017 and sometime in 2018, which is pretty much two year from now if you want to get your hands on Yakuza 6 in the West.

Furthermore, thanks to Deep Silver the announcement regarding the Western version of Yakuza 6 can be read below.

“Kazuma Kiryu, the Dragon of Dojima (and the main protagonist of Sega’s long-running Yakuza franchise) will find out exactly how much people are willing to sacrifice for family – be those ties through blood or bond – when Yakuza 6: The Song of Life releases in the West. The game is coming to consoles only on PlayStation 4, and thanks to the new “Dragon Engine,” is the most advanced Yakuza title to date. From the unparalleled realism of the new setting of Onomichi, a beautiful, sleepy port town in Hiroshima Prefecture, to the latest evolution of Kamurocho, the biggest red light district in Tokyo, Yakuza 6 is the ultimate iteration the game’s blend of gritty crime story, hyper-explosive combat, and all the vices and distractions those locales have to offer. Yakuza 6: The Song of Life will be localized by SEGA and published in the Americas and Europe in physical and digital formats in early 2018.”

For the record, the trailer below is new but it shows Yakuza Kiwami. At the end of the video we see an announcement for Yakuza 6, which I would have preferred a dedicated trailer for the latter, but I guess a little tease is better than nothing.

You can watch the new video courtesy of SegaAmerica‘s channel.

Yakuza 0 is set to launch for PS4 in the West on January 24th, 2017, both with physical and digital copies. Yakuza Kiwami is set to hit the West for PS4 during the Summer of 2017. Lastly, Yakuza 6 is slated to release across the West for said platform sometime early 2018.
