Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer DLC Might Make Luna Playable

There appears to be multiple reports surfacing based on two Japanese guide books for Final Fantasy XV that released recently. Parts of the book have been roughly translated, revealing that the final multiplayer DLC for Finval Fantasy XV will make some of the more popular side-characters in the game playable. And for those wondering whether or not you’ll ever be able to play as Luna, the info seems to point at it being a possibility.

In a news update video put together by Final Fantasy Union, they noted that the guide books revealed the ages of some of the characters, putting Gladiolus’ young sister, Iris, at the tender age of 15. They revealed that Cor, former member of the King’s Guard, is 45, and that Aranea, the feisty but resolute mercenary, is 30.

As noted in the video, Lunafreya Nox Fleuret, usually referred to as Lady Luna, might be a playable companion in the multiplayer DLC. There’s no definitive answer here, so she may or may not be, and we’ll have to wait to see what Tabata decides. If she does become playable, then it may satiate the complaints some people had that Luna wasn’t a very fleshed out character, and other complaints about her not being able to join your team. If she does become playable, it may make some people a little less frustrated at the game.

They definitely point to Cor, Iris and Aranea being playable, alongside Noct, Gladiolus, Ignis and Prompto. Sadly, it doesn’t appear as if you’ll be able to take command of Nyx at all. Such a shame because he was a really cool character and Aaron Paul did his darndest to help bring him to life in Kingsglaive.

An article on DualShockers also noted that the ending was left vague by Hajime Tabata because he wanted people to be able to interpret for themselves what happens at the end. This has sparked quite a lot of debates about what the ending means and what happens to the characters, getting lots of people to talk about Final Fantasy XV nonstop.

Some gamers are curious if the new multiplayer DLC will be post-game content or if it will be embedded into the story throughout the game. None of the sources relating to the guide books mentioning the multiplayer DLC clarify exactly where in the timeline this DLC will take place, but if it’s interwoven into the story then it means you’ll likely have to play through the game once more.

Final Fantasy XV is available right now for Xbox One and PS4.
