Once known as Long War Studios the development team has a new name, Pavonis Interactive. FireAxis took to the XCOM main site to announce the team’s latest project, which is a sequel to XCOM 2‘s Long War. The turn-based strategy game is out now for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
If you are a fan of Long War for XCOM 2 it’s likely that you’ll fancy the announcement for Long War 2 that comes in by Firaxis. This announcement was made on XCOM’s official site and notes that fans can expect more “in the coming weeks”.
Although nothing is really elaborated on or dropped in extensive detail, like what can fans expect, we do get a brief ideal by a redirection through Pavonis Interactive new site, as noted below.
“Long War Studios, the development outfit responsible for great XCOM 2 PC content such as the “Alien Pack” and the “Perk” and “Laser Pack” mods, has a new name: Pavonis Interactive, and a new web site. And the team has been working on something ambitious. We’ll be sharing more in the coming weeks so stay tuned.”
From the above I know a lot of folks will be thinking “how did you draw Long War 2 from that?” Well, it’s listed on XCOM’s site as clear as day, which if you want another way to keep up with the development there is a link listed in the following text…
“In the meanwhile, make sure you’re following the XCOM 2 Steam Community hub so you don’t miss any future announcements on XCOM 2. Knowledge is power, Commander.”
Mods obviously play an important role when it comes to longevity in a game and also brings the community closer to a title given that fans can put their own spin on a game through modding, which is no exception here.
