Shiro Games has a new strategy game that’s about to hit PC via Steam Early Access on February 22nd. The game puts players in command to build cities and control viking clans vying for dominance on a mysterious continent. Players will have to expand their cities through good leadership and safe trade routes.
Strategy games can be very complex and engaging when done correctly. They often enforce tactical approaches when a surprising event pops out of nowhere with no rhyme or reason, and call for rational and critical thinking when dealing with both extreme and minuscule events alike. With that said, Northgard is aiming to give gamers a broad strategy experience set within a Norse theme.
The devs further elaborate on Northgard’s basic concept below.
“Northgard is a strategy game based on Norse mythology in which you control a clan of Vikings vying for the control of a mysterious newfound continent.”
After sailing through endless waves and conquering new shores, players must bring fame to the clan they will be assuming by going on a conquest and searching the mysterious newfound land, trading goods with those in order to prosper and conquer even more.
According to the developers the game is said to bring a challenge through introducing a variety of forces like dire wolves, undead warriors, giants and of course, the harsh elements of winter.
If all of the above sounds like something that you can get behind a new trailer is up for you to watch, thanks to ShiroGamesTV‘s channel.
The features that will be present on release includes some typical stuff found in other strategy sim games, along with bringing a few unique features and items to the table all its own.
The features found in Northgard include assigning your vikings to do various jobs such as building, cultivating land and yielding forth goods through farming, building up stalwart warriors, venturing across sea and land, and creating loremasters in your clan.
Players will also be able to battle each other through a PvP mode, or against AIs to sharpen their skills by changing the difficulty level and personalities.
Northgard will be for PC and will land on Steam Early Access on February 22nd. If you want to find out more regarding this game you can head on over to northgard.net.
