The latest game maker to hit Steam Early Access Q3 of this year comes in by Justin Arnold. Going by the moniker RPG in a Box, the game presents players with the ability to create any asset in an editor that uses a voxel look. RPG in a Box is currently in Steam’s Coming Soon section and will hit PC later this year.
I’ve always been a fan of game makers and programs that allow folks to create whatever comes to mind. The whole process of making something from scratch through an editor that’s beginner friendly is not only good for newcomers but for folks who seek to make their second or third game without having to pay an absurd amount of money.
Well, it seems as if that is exactly what developer Justin Arnold seeks to do with his game RPG in a Box, making an editor/game that anyone can get a hold of that is easy to use. Although I should note that this game uses voxel or blocky aesthetics for its visuals, so if you aren’t a fan of squared looking stuff this may not be entirely for you.
Moreover those who like Minecraft and other block building games that allow for creative work will most likely enjoy this game; this is reiterated in the official description for RPG in a Box, which sits below.
“RPG in a Box is a set of tools for easily creating 3D grid-based, voxel-style role-playing and adventure games.”
The newly released trailer reveals an Alpha version of the game that discovers quite a bit of the game’s mechanics. The video trailer comes in courtesy of RPG in a Box‘s channel.
If the editor seems like too much for newcomers the site contains a dedicated wiki page to help beginners out with all of the functions and features present in the game.
RPG in a Box is set to come out Q3 of this year for PC via Steam Early Access, which more can be found regarding this game by heading on over to rpginabox.com.
