A new interactive story game is in the works and just hit Steam Greenlight. The game, Sacred Fire, comes in by Poetic Studio and seeks to delve into a psychological story that is driven through RPG mechanics. Sacred Fire is set to hit PC early 2018 and is currently seeking votes on Greenlight.
The game sees players witnessing Rome trying to conquer their lands, although Rome failed many times before, they construct a wall to divide the conflicts that spark throughout time between the two nations. However, players will have the option to wage war, re-unite both nations or continue the brewing tension between two.
At its heart, Sacred Fire is a turned-based game that features RPG tactics that test players survival skills. Although the game is an interactive story it also features maintenance of relationships, skill based-battles and much more…
“Sacred Fire is a turn-based, psychological RPG about survival, power, and the search for meaning, inspired by ancient Caledonia. Build your will to show courage in battle and cunning in the throne room. Rise through renown, blackmail, or loyalty. Inspire others to crush Rome or to build a nation.”
The battle system looks like something that actually took effort to make, which I applaud because you do not see this kind of intricacy on Steam Greenlight. You can check out a GIF showing the combat.
Another scene shows more options during a battle sequence that looks very dynamic.
During meetings, conflicts and other scenarios present in the game, the player will have multiple choices that can drastically changed a given situation. This not only creates nice replay-value, but adds on to the overall story in an interactive-like game driven by its story, as seen below.
As of this moment only a teaser trailer is up for you to watch, which I’m sure a full trailer is coming soon. You can check out the teaser trailer below thanks to Poetic Studio‘s YouTube channel.
And if you heard Geralt’s voice from the Witcher you’d be correct. Doug Cockle will be helping out and doing voice overs in this game, which I’m sure Witcher fans will be happy to know that he is in this game.
