Attack on Titan: Escape from Certain Death is a visual novel with adventure-like qualities nestled within its core mechanics, and as of recent Koei Tecmo and Ruby Party released a new trailer, standing as the second trailer for the game, revealing in-game sequences and dialogue choices between characters. Escape from Certain Death is set to release for the 3DS in Japan on March 30th.
If you don’t know and you are new to Attack on Titan: Escape from Certain Death, this is not like your typical titan killing game. Most fans familiar with Feng Lee and Koei Tecmo’s free roaming titles that let you swing around and kill titans at your own pace will find that this game takes a whole new approach to the AoT realm.
The game is driven by choice and, at heart, is a visual novel that I’m sure a lot of VN fans will enjoy. Adding on the realm of AoT, the whole experience aims to grip players and take them on a thrilling ride through a brand new story.
The new story will still fit into context or will be lore friendly according to the devs, but will see new things without spoiling any future events. This means that the game will show events a little bit before the Female Titan, except in an area where a dilapidated castle sits.
The player stands to be a member of the Survey Corps investigating the outside wall, and must attempt to escape the castle after a group of titans surround you, your team and the castle.
The second trailer dives a little bit deeper into the game and shows quite a bit of familiar faces. The trailer comes in thanks to Ruby Party Channel.
