RTS and card strategy games are quite popular, and if you are a fan of deck building RPGs I think that you might like Nowhere Prophet. The card strategy game sees players surviving out in a wasteland, building up their team while searching for a mysterious Crypt. Sharkbomb Studios’ Nowhere Prophet is seeking votes on Steam Greenlight, and will be for PC during the early part of 2018.
On a far off planet named Soma lies bandits, stragglers and outcasts seeking the presence of a mysterious Crypt. The world is brutal and desolate, leaving players with the choice, when traveling, to help those who are in need or to rob the poor and needy.
Other formidable opponents also lurk to steal from players, reinforcing players to build a strong team when traveling the dangers of the wasteland.
Nowhere Prophet’s official description sits below.
“Become the last hope to a band of outcastes and lead them across the randomly generated wastelands. Pick fights with greedy slavers and crazy machines using the turn-based card combat. But always spend your resources carefully. Will you support your convoy or improve your decks? And can you survive long enough to the mysterious Crypt?”
Combat in this game is set up where if your convoy is confronted, the game changes to a turn-based strategy deck-like game mode. From this perspective players can pick their Operators to enter the fight and will control the battle through cards to triumph any opposing force.
The official trailer for this game is up for folks to watch, which shows traveling, card battles and choice/dialogue options.
I’m sure this game is not for everyone, but if you do like playing card games, RTS simulators, managing groups and making choices that alter your course, this indie project is something that you should really check out.
