Resident Evil 7: How To Fix Broken Pistol, Shotgun

There are two special weapons in Resident Evil 7 that you encounter fairly early on, the broken hunting shotgun and the broken pistol, the latter of which is a .45 1911. While you might encounter these weapons early in the game, getting them to work is an entirely different task. If you need a bit of help, maybe this guide can point you in the right direction, as well as give you a heads up on where to find the gun repair kits.

YouTuber AFGuidesHD put together a five and a half minute long video not only showing you how you can get your hands on the broken pistol and broken shotgun, but also shows how you can repair both items in Resident Evil 7. You can check it out below.

If you can’t watch the video for whatever reason, the instructions are as follows: You’ll need access to Lucas’ place, the snake room off the main foyer, and the trailer.

Head into the main foyer and go upstairs into the snake room. If you don’t have the key or need access to the snake key, be sure to check out our Resident Evil 7 gameplay walkthrough guide.

Inside the room there’s another room that leads to the closet. Go inside and pick up the “Treasure Photo” on the red stool in the corner to the left once you enter.

The photo will show the location of the repair kit you’ll need for the pistol. It’s in Lucas’ place where there’s a mannequin head atop a cage, as pictured below.

Head to Lucas place. Go through the hallways into the construction room where the ladder is leaned up against the cage. Activate the head on the cage to remove it. Underneath the head is the gun repair kit.

Exit from the room and head back outside and into the trailer. You’ll find the broken handgun on the bed.

Combine the broken handgun with the gun repair kit. This will restore the M19 Handgun and make it usable.

Proceed back to the main house but don’t go inside. If you stand out front you can head under the house – there’s a busted out section of the porch that you can crawl under.

Turn on your flashlight and just inside you’ll find a gun repair kit on the ground.

The kit is just lying there on the ground. It’s accessible after you do the segment where you move under the floor in the house that leads outside.

Head back inside and go into the other snake door room that leads to the attic. You’ll need to go up into the attic and retrieve the wooden shotgun model.

Head back downstairs and replace the broken shotgun with the wooden model. Use the repair kit on the broken shotgun and you’ll now have a hunting rifle at your disposal, doing some mean damage up close to monsters. It only gets two shots, so make them count.

Resident Evil 7 is currently available right now for the PC, PS4, PS4 Pro, PSVR and for the Xbox One.
