Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory Gameplay Detailed

Bandai Namco has released some new information regarding Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory and what gamers can expect from the upcoming game. The information that Bamco released detail the battle system, training and adventuring.

Catching wind from publication site Gematsu, we learn that Bandai Namco has updated the official Japanese website for Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory, which is set to debut across PS4 and PS Vita. The game will come out this year in Japan and will come out in 2018 for those in the West.

According to the publication site, it’s noted that all of the information will not be anything new to those who have played the original Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth game, but may be interesting to newcomers. This means that the new game’s information that Bandai Namco has released is mostly features from the previous game that will be making their way over into Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory.

With the above out of the way, players will assume the role of a “Hacker” in the near future set in Tokyo. The hacker undertakes different missions or troubles in the cyber world, and with the hacker’s Digimon the team must travel between the real and digital world to solve all troubles plaguing both realms. This tasks the hacker (or players) to go around and explore fields, dungeons and other places to find items and gather information caused by opposing hackers/Digimon.

In addition to Digimon and adventuring, the digital monsters can be scanned while players are out and about to collect data. This works across dungeons and other places, in which the data collected can be converted into a Digimon at the “Digi-Lab” facility in the digital world. The game is said to hold 320 Digimon that can be trained to evolve into more powerful monsters.

As for battles and how they manifest, they happen through an “Active Turn” battle system where Digimon take-turns with attacks — primarily driven by speed and skill. Commands like “Attack” and “Skill” will help out in battles, and if used correctly the named commands will lead players to victory.

Lastly, types and attributes will sport their advantages and disadvantages against other Digimon. Upon choosing skills and enemies to attack, players will be able to “Combo” certain moves to deal more damage to formidable foes. In addition, this system widens the spectrum of skill and strategy allowing players to approach various enemies differently.

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory is set to come out for PS4 and PS Vita in Japan this year, while the Western version is set to debut early 2018. For more information on this game you can hit up digimonstory.bn-ent.net.
