Even though Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age isn’t due out until July 11th, 2017, Square Enix already has the collector’s edition detailed for the PS4 re-release based on the PS2 classic.
The Collector’s Edition will include the exclusive Judge Magisters bust set, a steelbook containing the original Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age game, along with the original soundtracks. There’s an exclusive six card set featuring all of the main characters, along with a digital code to unlock the Final Fantasy XII background music option for in-game play.
You can see what the full Collector’s Edition looks like unboxed with the image below.
All of these high-quality items will run you a pretty penny. Try $199.99 on for size.
Additionally, you’ll be able to pick up a limited edition for $49.99, which comes in the steelbook casing and features the digital soundtrack code, and then there’s just the final print standard edition that you can also pick up from store shelves.
Square Enix is really aiming to milk the remastered edition of Final Fantasy XII as much as possible.
A lot of gamers have been hoping and begging for a PC release of the title as well. Square has actually been showing a lot of love to PC gamers recently by porting over older titles like Final Fantasy IX and the original Final Fantasy XIII, along with the HD remastered versions of Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2. Square also teased a release of Final Fantasy XV on PC, which sent a lot of gamers into hype overdrive. I wouldn’t be surprised if the game made an appearance on Steam at some point later in the year.
While Square hasn’t made any mention of Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age releasing on Steam, I wouldn’t put it past them to slap it on PC at some point. In all likelihood Sony could have paid for a bit of exclusive time on the PS4 in order to bolster sales for the home console.
