Full Throttle Remastered Set To Release On April 18th With GOG Exclusives

GOG.com is stepping it up when it comes to exclusive content and getting competitive with Steam. The DRM-free digital distribution service announced in partnership with Double Fine Productions that Full Throttle Remastered will launch on April 18th next month on PC, and if you pre-order through GOG.com you’ll receive a 20% discount on your purchase.

Full Throttle Remastered will be available for $14.99 (but with the 20% discount you can snatch it up for $11.99) and sports fully remastered visuals based on the 1995 classic point-and-click action-adventure game starring the hard-nosed, biker-riding Ben Throttle.

The game goes down in history as one of my absolute favorites. The fact that you got to play as a genuine badass in Ben made it so much more fun than the typical nerdy geek who was oftentimes the protagonist in the point-and-click games. In this case, Ben wasn’t afraid to throwdown and get nasty with fisticuffs and Road Rash-inspired violence. In fact, that racing combat sequence is still one of my favorite gameplay moments in a point-and-click game.

If you have no idea what the game is like or how it plays, you can check out the trailer for the remastered version of Full Throttle below.

In addition to being 20% off on GOG.com, they’re also running a discount on all other Double Fine titles, with prices being slashed by up to 90% on the games available through the GOG.com catalog.

The discount on Double Fine games will only be available for the week, but you’ll have up until April 18th to pre-order Full Throttle Remastered for 20% off the DRM-free version of the classic title from LucasArts.

Unfortunately, this does mean the money will go into the coffers of a man who publicly mocked and derided minorities, women and those in the LGBTQ community. If you don’t know what I’m talking about… I’m talking about Tim Schafer, and man with no remorse and no regrets about throwing some of his most faithful followers, admirers and fans under the bus in order to perpetuate a hate campaign against the gaming community. If you’re still left in the dark, perhaps this video will illuminate things for you.

And for those of you who agree with Schafer… well.. I think a few people might have something to say about that.

Anyway, if you still feel like pre-ordering Full Throttle Remastered, feel free to do so by visiting the GOG.com page.
