So apparently there were rumors circulating the internet about a new Assassin’s Creed TV show, and it seems to be true that plans for a new series is in the works.

Riding the heels of the new movie that recently released with its lackluster domestic sales at the box office, it is surprising news that Ubisoft is moving forward with their plans for a TV show adaptation. We don’t know who will be starring in it, we don’t know the plot of the TV show, and we don’t know what time period the show will take place in, all we know is that they have plans for it and they are trying to make it happen. With TV shows like DC’s Legends Of tomorrow, it could be a show about the cast constantly jumping between several different time periods, so we’ll see what they have in store for us.

On March 21st, 2017, the head of content for the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Aymar Azaizia, took to Reddit during an AMA session (Ask me anything), where the fans got to ask the content director any and everything and he would answer their questions. But first, what exactly does he do and what is he in charge of? He starts the topic by introducing himself as you can see from the below quote.

“I have been working on the Assassin’s Creed series since Assassin’s Creed II, and I am now managing the “content” of the franchise. In Layman’s term, I deal with anything story or lore related. From the games, to publishing and transmedia at large. I also manage the brand expansion and therefore licensing and merchandising.”

As you can see, Azaiza is literally in charge of all the content coming out for Assassin’s Creed, rather that be video games, books, movies or TV shows. So if anyone knows about a new project that is in the works, he’s the guy to ask.

One Redditor asked if Azaiza could tell anything about the new TV show, and the answer was a simple “No”. So for now, no details could be discussed at this time about the project. However, Azaiza did elaborate and say that there are plans for a TV show, but they are currently taking their time with it to deliver something good.

“It’s like the movie guys, we will take our time, to get sure we deliver something we can be proud of, but if you wander if it’s on our plan… YES”

“Take our time” could mean within the year, the next five years, or within the decade, but it looks like the Assassin’s Creed team has already decided it is happening sooner or later.

As for video game news, yes, a new game is also in the works, but just like the TV show, no details were given other than the fact that they are also taking their time with it and delaying it for an extra year, as Azaiza says they want to deliver something “amazing” that is “worth the wait”.

“I take those requests as a good sign. You guys wants more, and we did good by taking more time to get sure than our next game will be amazing. That being said, we will communicate when we will be ready to.
