Scorn Will Hit PC First, Console Versions To Come Later

Scorn will be coming to PC, which is a no brainier given that it went through Steam Greenlight. Greenlight is aimed at getting games through the platform so that they can get onto the Steam store itself. But this raises the question that I see a lot of people asking, will Scorn come out for consoles?

There are a lot gamers out in the wild and when you talk to them they all like different things, which includes different platforms. Some people enjoy playing their games on PC, while others like gaming on PS4, Xbox One, the Wii U, or whatever console is consumable and playable for the public.

In this case, development team Ebb Software announced sometime ago that it was going to bring its latest game in the works, Scorn, to PC. A lot of people took to Scorn’s videos and enjoyed the now eight month old teaser trailer. However, folks enjoyed it so much that they want a PS4 and Xbox One port and other console ports too, but is it possible? More importantly is it something that Ebb Software wants to do?

Well, not too long ago one of developers over at Ebb Software noted on Facebook about Scorn coming to other platforms, and here’s what was said.

“We do get a lot of requests for the consoles and are of course taking them in to account. However we feel that at this point we don’t have enough resources to do a high quality port simultaneously with the PC version, so unfortunately the console fans will definitely have to wait a bit more.”

So in other words, yes it will be coming to PS4 and Xbox One, and maybe others, but only after the PC version debuts.

Moreover, for those unaware, the game is said to challenge players unlike anything else before. For instance puzzles, enemies, and other features like open-ended world segments will test players in a way that cannot be repetitively reused to get through the whole entire game, as noted below:

“Players will have to think about when to fight and when to take cover and how their actions affect the world around them. Different play styles will be needed to advance.”

Scorn is also said to hold no sympathy for players, so if you screw up that’s your fault. The game will go all out and this means if you miss something important you’re doomed for sure…

“Scorn takes place in an open-ended world with different interconnected regions. Each region is a maze-like structure with various rooms and paths to discover. All the storytelling happens in-game, with no cut-scenes to distract you from the grisly reality of the living, breathing world you’re in. But keep your eyes open – the game won’t show you any sympathy if you miss something important on your uneasy travels. Everything has a reason and purpose – you just need to work out what it is.”

Part one of Scorn is set to come out sometime this year, while part two still has no official release date. You can check out the teaser trailer if you want to see how the game looks.
