A new 36 second trailer was recently published for public consumption by Bandai Namco Games. The trailer is an artistic and original animation put together to showcase the themes that Bandai seems to be aiming for with their new game, which carries the tagline “Prepare to dine”.
The trailer instantly resonated with a lot of gamers looking forward to something vampire-themed. There’s a lot of hints of bloodsucking and bloodletting going on, including a female who licks blood from her lips, and a character who seems to be undergoing some sort of transformation after leaving a smearing of blood on a nearby wall. You can check out the artistic new teaser below.
The trailer seems to combine Goth-punk with magic and swords. Not a bad combination at all. In fact, it’s rare we get this kind of modern combination of vampires, grunge and noir art all in one go. It’s hard to even draw any parallels to this particular kind of art-style and thematic visual depictions, which is a great thing because it means it’s standing apart all on its own.
The trailer definitely gives us a strong hint at what sort of gameplay we can expect from this upcoming title, as we see a female warrior with a rifle-blade hacking and slashing through enemies while running up towards a big boss monster to face off against it.
The rifle looks like a Mosin Nagant with a bayonet at the end. I can’t help but think of it as some kind of mix of Castlevania meets Bloodborne; or at least that’s the vibes I’m picking up from the game’s brief teaser impression.
Anyway, all the guesswork and rummaging of information is pointless since we won’t have to wait long for the reveal of the actual game itself. Bandai will drop all the necessary details on April 20th next week. You can also keep an eye on the game by visiting the official website.
