Bandai Namco recently took to its main site to announce the first DLC for Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization. The new trailer accompanies the latest update pertaining to said game. SAO: Hollow Realization is currently out now for PS4 and PS Vita.

Looking further into the update post over on Bamco’s main site we learn that Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization will gain its first of three sectioned “Abyss of the Shrine Maiden” DLC story expansion, and this particular section goes by the name of “Chapter 1: Explorer of Illusory Mists”.

The first of the three DLC is currently set to release in Japan on April 26th, and over in the West on May 26th. Before rambling on about more stuff regarding the DLC, a new video by Bandai Namco Entertainment America reveals some of the expansion as seen below.

The official description detailing the DLC and its premise can be found below, which offers quite a bit of info on “Chapter 1: Explorer of Illusory Mists”:

“The first downloadable content will put you in the shoes of Kirito and his friends’ once more. A new stage in Aincrad Castle – where flaming earth, magma and heat waves dominate the atmosphere – will be the main scenario. Defeating Bane – The crimson Demon – is the target, but while the group is trying to clear this incredible new stage, Premiere suddenly complained of headache. What is going to happen? At the same time, a mysterious masked person makes his appearance. Will it be an ally or a new enemy…

 

With the main scenario comes as well Heroine Quest – where you will have the chance to add Asuna, Lisbeth, Silica and Premiere as heroine in the first Chapter; Enigma Order Quest – where you can acquire the precious Fuse Paragon, Mystic and Ultana GP Order items & skill for becoming powerful as never before; and Customization to change the appearance of the main characters.”

Bandai Namco also noted that the second chapter out of the three will see a reversed scenario where players will instead face ice dominated locations instead of fire. As for the final and last chapter known as “The Third”, players will unlock new characters like Alice and Eugeo and a co-sleeping event that will involve both.

As of now, the first DLC for Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization is set to release in Japan on April 26th, and over in the West on May 26th.
