Xbox Games With Gold For May, 2017 Includes Lara Croft And Star Wars

Microsoft continues to prove why they’re absolutely rod-raping Sony when it comes to their Xbox Live offerings versus the PSN’s offerings now that they’ve announced their May, 2017 line-up for their Games With Gold program. They’ve managed to give gamers a healthy mix of indie titles, mid-budget games, and two last gen AAA outings.

Over on the official Xbox Wire, Mike Nelson rolled out some details on the May, 2017 Games With Gold line-up. You can check out the video below to get a quick rundown.

So Xbox 360 owners will have two Star Wars games to choose from, or add to the ever-growing stash of free games. This includes Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, which will be available between May 1st and May 15th, and Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, which will be available available between May 16th and May 31st.

Both games are also fully backwards compatible, so even if you don’t own an Xbox 360, you can still play them on your Xbox One.

And speaking of the Xbox One… platformer fans will be able to pick up Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams – Director’s Cut between May 1st and May 31st. And between May 16th and June 15th Xbox One owners will be able to get their hands on Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris for free.

One thing worth noting is that Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams is a really challenging game. The added two-player mode will most certainly give gamers some extra replayability, and the mix-and-match, alternating dimension mechanic plays a huge role in how the levels must be completed. To be a Kickstarted game it’s a highly underrated, quality outing from Black Forest Games.

What’s so sad is that in comparison to Sony and the PS Plus offerings, even Microsoft’s indie games selected for Games With Gold are of higher quality than what Sony feeds to its ponies. It’s a sad, sad day for those Sony ponies.

Anyway, you can look to cash in on those free games on Xbox 360 and Xbox One starting May 1st.
