Here’s The Latest Rumors On Far Cry 5 And Red Dead Redemption 2

It seems that gamers just might receive two Western-themed games as of late 2017 or sometime in 2018. These two titles consist of Ubisoft’s Far Cry 5 and Rock Star San Diego’s Red Dead Redemption 2. However this information all comes from three videos with non-concrete info, which means that all of this should be taken with a grain of salt.

New games are expected to come out of the woodwork during this year’s E3, but at the same time familiar titles are also set to hit the scene during the game convention. We know the names of some of these titles by following them, but as of recent we really don’t know all that much about fun factor, setting/time-period and if they will be better than previous installments. Well, according to a batch of videos we may have an idea about two games; namely Far Cry 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2.

Far Cry 5

Ubisoft recently posted up a new image on its Facebook page showing an island with a skull underwater and stating that players will be visiting an island that they never really left, which was found by YouTuber World of Games. The official Ubisoft team later posted up on its Instagram account a picture of Vaas Montenegro, sparking fans to think that a spin-off could happen or a direct sequel/prequel of Far Cry 3 is inbound.

Something that the video also revealed is the consideration of different settings like Vietnam, Peru and other island-like places, which the locations are followed by alternate settings in a Ubisoft community pole that reads:

  • Western theme
  • Zombie theme
  • Cyberpunk theme
  • Dinosaur theme

Below is the video by World of Games covering the latest news and rumors regarding Far Cry 5.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Next up comes the game that has some PC gamers  very furious at Rock Star San Diego for the current PC conundrum regarding the lack of any confirmation for the release of Red Dead Redemption 2, which is set to hit PS4 and Xbox One. Regardless of the platform discrepancy, a new leaked image has surfaced supposedly showing a still of in-game footage, in which dedicated Red Dead fan LegacyKillaHD has a video covering the image and its validity.

Overall Rumor

If you know me, I hate rumors. However, I have a love for both the older Far Cry games and even played the original Red Dead Revolver, and to see two series that I had fun with rumored to be coming out around the same time has my curiosity at the moment. Adding on to that both games are rumored to be set during the wild west, so to see competition between the two really has me curious as to how Ubisoft will fair against Rockstar when it comes to making a western title?

Anyway, none of this is proven, but one video by YouTuber Silentc0re goes over why Far Cry 5 could be a western title like Red Dead Redemption 2.

Remember, take all of this with a grain of salt. None of this will be proven until either of the two companies drop official information. However, if you are a fan of both games and seek the latest news or rumors regarding Far Cry and Red Dead Redemption, I think that these rumors (above) may help with expectation and what said titles could feature.

Until further information comes out, what’s your thoughts on a new Far Cry game and what Rockstar San Diego is doing with Red Dead Redemption 2?
