NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros., let loose the official launch trailer for Injustice 2, the new fighting game for PS4 and Xbox One.
The trailer is only a minute long, featuring a brief overview of the game’s story mode, the new gear system, the various special moves and a glimpse at all of the villains and heroes that you’ll be able to play throughout the game.
The launch trailer plays it fairly safe, utilizing a remixed version of Jamie N Common’s “Into the Jungle”. You can check it out below.
The cinematics for the game are already up and out on YouTube, but if you want to wait and savor the experience, you can look to get your hands on the full game on May 16th.
The game has a multi-layered storyline focusing on the events that transpired after Superman was captured and the Regime was dismantled. Batman and Superman later attempt to reform the Justice League in their own image, but face opposition from Gorilla Grodd’s faction known as The Society, which is composed of various mercenary villains.
The larger threat that looms over Earth is that of Brainiac, as he attempts to finish what he started when he destroyed Krypton in his attempt to collect the Kryptonians but failed to nab Kara and Clark. This leads Batman and others to team-up in an attempt to fight off Brainiac before he can destroy the Earth.
There are plenty of twists and turns throughout the story, including narratives that intertwine the involvement of some of the new cast members who weren’t present in he original Injustice.
You can look to get your hands on the game for PS4 or Xbox One in just a matter of hours for $59.99. The game, sadly, is not available on PC but hopefully Warner Bros., will give a little love to PC gamers down the line with a PC port.
