Lonely Mountains: Downhill, Bike Game Seeks Votes On Greenlight

Lonely Mountains: Downhill is a breath of fresh air for Greenlight standards given that it has no stolen assets and it’s made from the ground up by indie devs at Megagon Industries. The low-poly downhill racing game is set to hit PC via Steam in early/mid 2018.

I know, some of you were probably thinking that this is another asset scam Greenlight game, but much to my surprise the devs actually built this rag-doll racing game from scratch. This is a big achievement for a Greenlight game in that most entries are a collection of stolen 2D or 3D props so that they can make a quick buck and then abandoned the project.

I’m not sure if the devs will stick around, but if they do I could see Lonely Mountains: Downhill being a pretty solid game at releases. It mixes physics and low-poly designs to make a simple yet complex downhill racer.

“Just you and your bike – take it on a thrilling ride down an unspoiled mountain landscape. Make your way through thick forests, narrow trails and wild rivers. Race, jump, slide and try not to crash – all the way from the peak to the valley!”

Lonely Mountains sparks memories of the speed-score segment of Paper Boy for the Sega Genesis, which I think more games like Paperboy is not a bad thing. However, you can be the judge of that and see whether or not Lonely Mountain: Downhill is something worth being Greenlit courtesy of the video trailer by Megagon Industries.

As a heads-up, the gameplay shown above reflects pre-alpha footage. This means that the game will likely see changes graphically when 2018 rolls around as well as enhanced physics.
