A new RTS game is currently in the works that goes by the name of Medieval Kingdom Wars. The game features actual construction of buildings, a complex economy system and explores the middle-ages in a way that players can rewrite. Reveie World Studios’ Medieval Kingdom Wars is set to hit PC via Steam Early Access this May.

I already know what you are thinking: will this game feature transgendered tri-racial Attack Apache helicopters during the rewriting process of medieval Europe’s history? And the short answer to that question is: no.

The game wants players to experience the middle-ages in Europe as close as possible to reality, but provide players an opportunity to alter certain events in a strategic way. In other words medieval Europe will stay consistent, events will just play out differently.

This is further explained in the description below.

“Rewrite medieval history through bloody siege combat and grand strategy. Rule, build, and wage war as one of the minor lords of medieval Europe… Medieval Kingdom Wars redefines Medieval Grand Strategy.”

The game will feature medieval siege combat with intricate stronghold construction, and well over 30 different siege weapons and units. Trees and other environmental assets on the map can be destroyed or altered during battle, which spans across the game’s depiction of Western Europe.

Players will be able to build complex cities and economic model that carry over from day-to-day chores, skirmish battles and to grand campaigns. This also affects quests that are said to be non-linear which branch off into multiple paths.

Medieval Kingdom Wars will feature a world editor for players to change the game up to their liking, which is accompanied by Steam Workshop support. This means that the game will be mod friendly; allowing for community made content to expand on what’s already in the game.
