Axiom Verge: Multiverse Edition Coming To Nintendo Switch For $29.99

BadLand Games and Thomas Happ Games announced that the highly popular indie title Axiom Verge will be getting a re-release for the Wii U, PS4 and PS Vita in the form of the Multiverse Edition. However, the real surprise with the news announcement comes in the form of the Nintendo Switch being another platform that the game will be arriving on starting in August of 2017.

The announcement about the Switch came after the developers and publishers talked with the community, and there was strong feedback and requests for Axiom Verge on the Nintendo Switch, the highly popular new hybrid gaming device from Nintendo.

BadLand Games’ CEO Luis Quintans explained that due to such a high volume of feedback, they worked with 2 Player Productions to work on a new iteration of Axiom Verge called the Multiverse Edition in order to give gamers exactly what they asked for, mentioning in the press release…

“We’re proud to be working with 2 Player Productions on making Axiom Verge: Multiverse Edition an even more valuable collector’s item with the inclusion of this unprecedented look into the life of a renowned indie developer. We’re also pleased to confirm that the Multiverse Edition will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch. After fielding questions from the player community for some time now, it feels great to finally go public with this exciting news.”

The news about the game’s release on the Switch was accompanied by a new trailer, which you can check out below.

The trailer re-introduces gamers to the side-scrolling, 16-bit inspired platformer that took the gaming world by storm, garnering tons of positive review scores and lots of adoration and love from the gaming community.

The Axiom Verge: Multiverse Edition comes with a copy of the game on disc (or cartridge if you’re getting the Nintendo Switch version), a booklet with developer commentary and art, a double-sided poster featuring the weapons in the game and a map of the game world, a making-of documentary, and the original Axiom Verge soundtrack.

The game is a love-letter to the Super Metroid era of side-scrolling platformers that featured robust exploration, a diverse selection of weapons, and engrossing non-linear gameplay and discovery.

As mentioned, you can look for the game to arrive on the Switch, PS4, PC and Wii U starting this August for $29.99.
