A project that has been in development for some time now is a 2D mecha game named Code: Hardcore and comes in by developer Rocket Punch. The mecha game was once on Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight and has passed both platforms, and finally received a new launch date that stands to be October 2017.
The 2D side-scroller that sees mecha units battling other mech forces, better known as Code: Hardcore, has received a release date that will drop sometime this October for PC and PS4. Both the official description and the original trailer sit below detailing Code: Hardcore.
“Code: HARDCORE is a high-quality 2D platform shooting game designed to deliver an amazing gaming experience to every player. The game offers awesome features such as different styles of mechs, various elite weapons, unique items, stunning skins, smooth gaming control, hardcore combat feelings, and high-quality animations. Deadly unique combination of fighting styles are completely controlled and created by the player. Through various combinations, the player can create their own exclusive fighting styles.”
Code: Hardcore sports four player local multiplayer, 15 mecha units, a huge arsenal of weapons and items to utilize, melee and weaponized combat, playable ground pilots, and additional modes that include an Arcade Mode, Survival Mode and a Story Mode.
To be honest here, Code: Hardcore looks like a pretty solid game, especially given that it spawned from Steam Greenlight. The mecha game sports no stolen assets and features its very own content by publisher and developer Rocket Punch.
Moreover, the devs are still updating the mecha game and recently shipped out a new build that adds a new stage, more mechanics and a mecha to the fray, which only backers have access to at this very moment.
