Dissidia Final Fantasy NT Set To Hit PS4 Early 2018

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT has recently been announced by Square Enix to hit the PS4. The console version of the arcade fighter had been developed by Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja, which as of now, the game will be due out worldwide for said console sometime early 2018.

Cutting straight to the point, publication site Gematsu recently covered the announcement of Dissidia Final Fantasy NT that Square Enix dropped during a live stream event held on its YouTube channel. An official summery explaining Dissidia Final Fantasy NT lies below:

“Dissidia Final Fantasy NT introduces squad-based battle gameplay by allowing you to wage war with over 20 of your favorite Final Fantasy characters. Combining unparalleled visuals, seamless gameplay, and your favorite characters from the past 30 years of the franchise, Dissidia Final Fantasy NT welcomes all gamers with three-versus-three battles and the series renowned “bravery combat system”. While aiming for supremacy, call forth familiar summons like Ifrit, Shiva, and Odin to aid you and your party! Square Enix is collaborating with Team Ninja, one of the world’s leading developers in the fighting game genre, to bring Dissidia Final Fantasy NT to life.”

Now that the description is out of the way folks looking to get a glimpse of the game can view the new trailer below that Square Enix NA released.

According to the highlights during the live stream we learn that “NT” has several meanings that include: New Tale, New Trial, and New Tournament. Aside from abbreviations, it has been noted by the devs that the game will contain a Story Mode for the PS4 version, while the main game itself focuses on fighting and arcade style combat.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT will offer the same 3 Vs. 3 party battle system found on the arcade version, however the PS4 variant will offer some new stuff like additional battle rules, an offline single-player mode, a mode to create rooms that only friends can enter/join, and Noctis from FFXV.

I should note that the arcade version of Dissidia Final Fantasy NT will always receive updates first and that there will be no cross-play between the arcade and PS4 versions, but the devs are looking into a way so that arcade users can transfer their data over to the upcoming PS4 version.

Lastly, Dissidia Final Fantasy NT will be playable at this year’s E3 starting from June 13th and ending June 15th. The Final Fantasy fighting game will launch worldwide for PS4 sometime early 2018.
