Focus Home Interactive has released a new trailer, not a gameplay trailer, for Cyanide Studio’s upcoming game Call of Cthulhu. The title that sports both RPG and investigative elements explores perception, reality, cults and the sanity of Edward Pierce. Call of Cthulhu is set to release across PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
If you don’t know, Call of Cthulhu has been promoted in the past as an RPG with mystery elements sprawled throughout, which sounds rather interesting. The game follows private investigator Edward Pierce, who plunges into a case found on Darkwater Island to uncover a death, only to spiral out of control in an unexpected yet dark way.
As seen in the trailer below, the whole entire game focuses on perception, reality, cults and sanity. The further private investigator Pierce steps into this strange case the more he questions his own thoughts, presence and the overall existence of his surroundings. In case you were wondering, all of the above information comes from the new E3 2017 trailer and stands to be the description, meaning that the core content is still left a mystery as to what is really going on in Call of Cthulhu.
The near three minute long trailer that clocks in at two minutes and 49 seconds comes in by Focus Home Interactive and can be seen below for your viewing pleasure.
Being honest here: the above video trailer, in all reality, is just an extended CGI teaser trailer. I don’t really like trailers like that because they’re showing content that’s not really representative of the game in any way.
I always feel that a little gameplay in a short to medium package that’s gripping is always the way to go, insofar that you are showing something that can be done in-game without having to spoil anything major; but that’s just my opinion.
Anyway, as of this moment Call of Cthulhu has no set release date, but the game is set to come out for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
